HOD Electrical Engineering
Overview of the Department
Electrical department has been a leader in innovation for many years. Our existing strength are redefining what it means to both train and learn in the field of electrical engineering. Rather than training courses in isolation, our department always work in teams to hook trainers’ interest earlier by showing them concept that connect across the curriculum and how knowledge relates to this real world
This department is composed of 9 trainers and one technician of which all of them are highly skilled in training Electrical/ electronic engineering and also the department has standard workshop for both electrical and electronics practical.
Objectives
- To improve a program of continuous improvement to insure that our diploma/Craft/Artisan are of high quality
- To pursue and maintain ties of industry and other institutions
- To create an environment that value training effectiveness schedularship, research, professional service and study in order to meet the job market demand
- To have ability to identify formulate and solve complex engineering problems
Message from the HOD
Electrical and electronics engineering department is dedicated to work together to ensure that we produce skilled and qualified trainees that will always meet and competed for limited job opportunities
The support from trainees and the administration from St Joseph T.T.I for the Deaf has always enabled this department in this calendar of academics and our core value is “Team Work” also is a pillar to this success that has been realized in our department.
Courses & Requirements
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics engineering (Power Option) 3 years
KCSE C- (Must have done Physics in secondary school)
Craft Certificate in Electrical and Electronics engineering (Power Option) 2 years K.C.S.E D plain
Artisan in Electrical and Electronics engineering (Power Option) 2 years K.C.S.E D-/KCPE
Grade in Electrical and Electronics engineering (Power Option) 3 years K.C.P.E

TV and Radio repairs 6 months
Solar PV installation 6 months
Domestic and industrial installation 6 months
Automation and Robotics 6 months
Machine installation (posho mill) 6 months
The department have 3 intakes in a year i.e January, May and September intakes
