Overview of Department
In this era, Kenya continues to undergo changes industrially, occupationally, socially, and economically. These changes are creating challenges for students, staff and the entire ST. JOSEPHS TTTID community. A rapidly changing lifestyle; violence in homes, divorced parents; teenage suicide; substance abuse; and sexual experimentation are just a few examples of these challenges. These challenges are real, and they are having substantial impact on the personal/social, career, and academic development of students, staff and the entire ST. JOSEPHS TTTID community.
The college has developed a comprehensive guidance and counselling program as an integral part of the college activities. The program addresses the needs of all by facilitating students, staff and the entire ST. JOSEPHS TTTID community with personal/social assistance as well as helping create positive and safe climates in the institution. At the same time, the program assists students as they face issues and resolve problems by engaging in different activities like attending ST. JOSEPHS TTTID support group meetings, workshops, seminars and trainings.

CORE FUNCTIONS
The department provides the following services to ST. JOSEPHS TTTID community:
– Guidance services; on Education career and social issues.
– Individual and group counselling; according to the clients issues.
– HIV/AIDS attitude change training; to students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
-Public lectures on topical issues.
– Welfare and outreach activities.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
ST. JOSEPHS TTTID commits itself to and endorses the need to protect the environment. ST. JOSEPHS TTTID acknowledges and accepts its responsibility to conduct its business in compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
To accomplish this, the top management is committed to: –
-Establish an internal review procedure to identify environmental impacts of all functions
within the institution and to access levels of compliance with applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the environment. -Develop a program aimed at safe-guarding the quality of the environment and achieving compliance.
-Establish and maintain appropriate training programs designed to make every employee competent to carry out his/her responsibilities with respect to the policy.
-Report annually on regulatory compliance, issues and improvements.

-As technology advances and regulations change, ST. JOSEPHS TTTID will continue to improve systems, reduce waste and efficiently utilize resource to meet the environmental challenges of the next century.
